Lavender Honey Sugar Scrub

This is such a simple recipe and it’s not only good for personal use but makes a great hostess gift! Hell… It’s good for any gift! This scrub has a TON of benefits. The sugar itself is a great exfoliant and will leave your skin looking bright and feeling smooth. The lavender is calming and will reduce any redness that you may be experiencing. The honey is a natural antibacterial and moisturizer, it will also reduce the appearance of scars. The last ingredient is coconut oil and lets be real, you KNOW that shit is good for your skin and you don’t need me to tell you.

You will need the following:

* 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Use super fine for sensitive skin or regular for a more intense scrub.

* 2 table spoons honey

* 1/2 cup coconut oil

* 15 drops lavender essential oil

If you have some fresh or dried lavender (untreated of course) feel free to add some of the buds to your scrub. It will look pretty but is not enough on its own to achieve the benefits that you can get from the essential oil. You should use this all over your body except your face. It’s a great way to ready your legs before shaving too! The razor will glide effortlessly and you’ll be left with silky smooth skin. External use only, please! This scrub can be made in large batches for holiday gift giving. To make a great gift even better, spoon into decorative jars and tie a small spoon for later mixing and use. I always pick up sweet little jars and containers when I see them and save them for a rainy day. The jars pictured here are from a garage sale, a thrift store and the dollar spot at Target. The tiny spoon is metalic plastic and is available at any party supply store in bulk. alternatives to the spoon would be a popsicle stick or wooden coffee stirrer. Be sure to label your jar so the recipient knows what they’re getting! I hope you enjoy this, it’s a keeper for sure. Store in a cool dry place and stir before each use.
