Gingery Kentucky Mule

I really enjoy a Moscow Mule. Crisp and bubbly without being too sweet or too sour. It’s a great balanced drink which explains it’s popularity! It ain’t just those schnazzy copper mugs, yo! You also may have noticed that I enjoy bourbon… HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA “might have noticed” has me dying! If you follow me, even slightly, you KNOW this. I didn’t come up with the idea to replace the Moscow with Kentucky, but I did put my own spin on it by adding freshly grated ginger to the mix. The result was a stunner.

You will need the following:

  • 3 shots of bourbon, I used Maker’s of course
  • 1 bottle of ginger beer
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, finely ground. A plane grater or the mesh of a sieve will work fine.
  • the juice of half a lime

Directions:

  1. In a shaker jar, add bourbon, ginger and lime juice. Give it a swirl and pour over two ice filled copper mugs. Double old fashioned or rocks glasses will work if you don’t have them.
  2. Top off with half of the ginger beer in each and stir.

Voila! It’s that simple and completely delicious! Make this instead of or in addition to your next round of Moscow Mules. Swearing Mom out.
