New Years Eve! A time for reflection, for looking forward to becoming a better version of yourself, for leaving the past behind and… SCREEEEECH to a grinding halt! Ring in the New Year drunk from the Blood of your enemies! After you’ve inserted your maniacle laugh, reel it back in and leave them haters, the ugly, the political and social drama and every other non-beautiful part of YOU back in 2016! That’s right, ugly still exists but we get to attack it with a renewed fervor! We are coming at 2017 with our power boots on!
This simple syrup is the perfect add in to any variety of cocktail or champagne. Add it to sparkling water for a delicious and refreshing “mocktail” for the designated driver, trust me, they will appreciate the gesture! Here, I added it to St George Gin and soda for a simple twist on the classic. Just use a shot and a half of gin plus a shot and a half of the syrup topped with club soda. I also poured half a shot into a champagne flute and topped it off with my favorite prosecco. Super easy to make, you can leave it out and let your guests serve themselves freeing you up to enjoy the party!
You will need the following:
- The juice of six blood oranges
- 2/3 cups of granulated sugar
- 2/3 cups of water
Direction:
- Mix the ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about five minutes.
- Remove and let cool. Pour into a decorative sealed container and refrigerate until ready to use.
2017 is your year! Go get ’em tiger! Swearing Mom out.
